Cesar Gon, Founder and CEO of the global digital agency CI&T, delivered a keynote address for the ‘2018 Global Lean Summit’ at Fu Dan Crowne Plaza Hotel, Shanghai, 2018 June 8th.
Cesar Gon was invited based on his international recognition in the global digital industry for the unprecedented implementation of lean thinking into the digital context. In his presentation titled “The Lean Digital Transformation”, he introduced the ongoing CI&T's Lean Digital Journey and highlighted the importance of culture change to achieve operational excellence combined with organizational speed and agility.
“Scale means culture. According to Shook’s change model, what we do on a daily basis changes our values and attitudes and, consequently, produces a cultural change,” Cesar said during the event.
“The success rate of classic top-down strategy deployment is incredibly low. While by combining design techniques with Hoshin Kanri method, our customer Coca Cola generated better results in two weeks than what they used to achieve in 6 months.”, he added.
The entrepreneur who founded CI&T at the age of 23 in 1995, is himself an enthusiastic lean evangelist and practitioner, and also an investor and board member of several startups.
The conference was organized by Lean Enterprise China (LEC), a non-profit organization aiming at promoting and educating lean practices to Chinese organizations, as an affiliate of the Lean Global Network. It brought together senior executives and lean practitioners from China and several countries to share their knowledge and perspectives on Lean Product Development, Lean People Development and better linking Lean and intelligent transformation in order to create more value to Chinese enterprises.
